The Y7 Smart Skills Builder Reading Booster Packs provide high interest reading resources for lower ability readers.
The texts used for each lesson have been carefully adapted for students working at a lower reading age:
- Reading Booster Year 7 = Reading age of 7–8 years
- Reading Booster Year 8 = Reading age of 8–9 years
- Reading Booster Year 9 = Reading age of 9–10 years
Although the levels are suitable for lower ability readers, the topics covered are appealing at Key Stage 3.
The topics match those in the Smart Skills Builder Reading series, which means that all your students can explore the same topics and texts – at an appropriate level for them. A great way to facilitate inclusion in the classroom.
Alternatively, this series makes a great stand-alone resource that is full of creative ideas for helping lower ability readers to progress their skills and build confidence in reading.
How to order through this website

UK schools

If ordering on account you will receive an invoice with the goods.
Individual customers in the UK

Schools or individuals from outside the UK
We cannot take payment online for overseas orders. This includes orders that will be sent via a UK shipper.
If you are an overseas customer you can add items to the shopping basket and submit this order to our customer service team at the checkout. Our customer service team will then contact you by email to confirm shipping costs and arrange for payment.

Approval service for UK schools
Smart Skills Builder Reading Booster Teacher’s Books and Student’s Books can be ordered on approval’by UK schools.
Any items ordered on approval will be invoiced when the goods are dispatched. However, the approval invoice only needs to be paid if you decide to keep the goods.
If a product is not suitable for your school, simply return the item to us in its original condition within 30 days of receipt. Please note that schools are responsible for paying the return postage cost.
